Apple iPad : A hype being killed
I’m a big fan of Apple. I love Mac, iPhone and iPod Touch. When those rumors about Apple’s new tablet was in the wild, I was so hyped to see what is it gonna be and kinda like having might-wanna-get-one feeling. I waited and watched the keynote Live on that night itself when Steve makes the announcement even though it was like 3 AM in Malaysia (GMT+8). In the end, I was hoping too much but yet, iPad didn’t meet my satisfactory. You may disagree with me but here are a few points that could have make iPad much better. See how Apple could have improve iPad after the break.
OS
Apple should have came out with new and different OS for the iPad rather than something which almost looks the same as iPhone OS. They could have added more features which iPhone OS is lacking. Perhaps, at least, Multitasking and better file management feature.
Lets put a scenario in this way. Say, you are doing some documents or preparing a presentation on iWork, and, you may needed to find some photo or information on the internet, you’ll have to quit the iWork first, then fire up Safari, search what you needed, exit Safari, go back to iWork? That’s a lot of chores which are not really necessary. Or at least, you wanted to check your tweetie, you’ll have to terminate things first.
File management
If you are a iPhone or iPod Touch user, you’ve already know how it is annoying to share files between two iPhones. It would have been better if it supports Drag and Drop file management. How about Bluetooth File transfer?
Flash support
Still no flash support. And this sucks. Seriously. iPad is powered with 1Ghz A4 processor which capable of supporting the flash’s required processing power.
Misc.
Adding an iSight camera would be nice (Though some say iPad actually has a place for the camera). SD Card slot.
Bottom Line
I’m not buying.
