Secondbar: Clone the OS X Menu
Recently I got a used LCD monitor from a friend of mine. So, I hooked it up with my MacBook Pro via the “Mini Display Port to DVIĀ Cable” (The cable costs RM 99 at local Apple Store). I really love the setup as it could really boost up my productivity. Now, I can open eBooks or learning video on one screen while I can focus and follow up the on the other one. P.S. I started learning PHP since last week (Yea.. I know its pretty late actually to learn PHP but yeh..)
So, after the screen is extend to the external monitor, I notice that the Menu bar stays in one screen only. Its kinda cumbersome if one application is in extended screen where its menu is in the other. I have to jump here and there to access menu and the application itself. So, I did a little bit of Google-ing and found this pretty neat application which fulfills my requirement. See it after the break!
Its called “SecondBar”. The name itself explains pretty much its functionality. It is written by the same developer who made “Better Touch Tool” for better experience and customization for Apple Magic Mouse and Macbook and Macbook Pro touch pad.
Installation is pretty easy. Just download the App and drop it into Application folder. The app can be configured to run at start up only when Mac is connected to external monitor. The rest of configuration are such as adjusting transparency and other misc. settings. Plus, this app is FREE.
If you are in same situation as me, I highly recommend this tiny but useful app to use.
