Prey: Track your stolen laptop for free
Worry about getting your new & shiny laptop stolen by those filthy laptop thief? Thinking of a way to trace that thief? Then you should take a look at the Prey Project. Works on OS X, Windows & Linux. You can add up to two device under an account. You can register for yourself at preyproject.com and download the prey installer. And, from the admin panel on the website, you can toggle the switch to start tracing.
Prey can report a webcam shot, screen shot, running programs, logged on user, IP address, Geolocation, auto wifi connect and send notifications to the device. All your device need is a working internet connection.

Ps. Geolocation doesn’t seems work for me though.
