Ok. I’m writing this while I’m waiting for the pizza. (I just got it). Like a few years ago when I was probably around 13, me, my uncle and my sister used to go to one and the only pizza restaurant in Yangon. Its named “Pizza Corner” if I’m not mistaken. Yeh. Due to those sanction craps, there’ isn’t Dominos, Pizza Hut or any other famous fast food shops in my country. Despite the sanction, we, Burmese people are still not used to with the fast food culture. The majority still prefers the traditional snacks where you can buy at the road side from the hawkers. And, fast food wasn’t really that fast in my country.
Back then, I remember I couldn’t eat much and I didn’t really like pizza. I always got myself full after like a slice or two while my sis and my uncle are going full speed on feasting the pizza.
Well, time indeed change things. The one who had thought pizza sucks now craving for it every now and then.
I even thought of opening a pizza restaurant by myself in future. May be when I’m around 40 if I got the opportunity.
I used to be a regular customer of Pizza Hut but after I tried the Domino’s, I hardly goes to Pizza Hut. Still, pizza in Malaysia can be considered expensive comparing with the local food such as Nasi Lamark, Nasi Goreng and stuff. A value set could cost you around 30-40 bucks which is not a good idea to be the everyday food. And, at this moment, I’m pretty broke as I overspent my budget last month. Yet, when my body craves for pizza, my mind had to allow it.
Apart from this, I’m about to finish my year 2 in two weeks time. After that, I’ll be going back to Yangon! Being away from home for almost a year now really suffers (I know, its just only a year for some of you guys).
Guess what am I gonna do while I’m in Yangon? Eat, eat and EAT! Yeah. Besides family and friends, what I really miss is the food. From မုုန္႔ဟင္းခါး to အေၾကာ္စံုု. Like one of my uncle says “Food is only the reason why I couldn’t abandon my country”. Though I’m quite skinny guy, I love food.
Plus, I miss my home sweet home. Being alone in a foreign country is tough and life back home is like.. in heaven. I got nothing to worry about when I’m home. Food will be ready whenever I needed. I can speak my mother tongue to everybody. I know all the places in the city and stuff.
Only if my country had better education system and basic facilities, I wouldn’t be at the place where I’m sitting right now.
Well, its already out of topic.
